Ethnographic Research and Resources
Mills-Pinyas' artistic practice is divided between Oregon and Spain, with work currently being shown in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Mallorca and Bodrum, Türkiye by Villa del Arte galleries. He also exhibits his work in Oregon in various venues. He has painted numerous permanent murals in Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain and Oregon.
In addition, Mills-Pinyas has collaborated since 1986 with the late Jorge Luis Acevedo in research of indigenous populations in Costa Rica, supported by the Fulbright commission (twice) and the Oregon Council for the Humanities. A research book has been published on paper and as a free pdf ebook, entitled Antologia: Cosmovisión y expresiones estéticas de los pueblos originarios en Costa Rica in 2025 by the University of Costa Rica Press.
